This charming Bennington tile measures 7.75" square by 1/4" thick. The design conjures the age-old question of what came first, the 'Chicken or the Egg', a fun and charming presentation of eggs and chickens, some carved and recessed, others in relief. It has a white ground, with lucious aqua and cobalt glaze colors. The tile is marked Bennington Potters Vermont, along with its shape number '*1535' incised on the backside. This tile, which can hang or be used as a trivet, is in near original condition, with an old surface sliver chip in the left side edge, not obvious, but it's there. If you like interesting Bennington tiles, this would make a nice addition.
