This vase may be J.W. McCoy or Brush McCoy Art Pottery, it's anyone's guess. It stands a mighty 11.5" high by 5.25" in diameter. This standard glaze vase has a classic and graceful form, with a bulb-like rim and a flaring contoured hip. It has a handsome presentation in a deep and rich brown standard glaze, which is quite thick in its application, and finished to a gloss sheen. This vessel is decorated with Autumn Leaves, in a simple, small cluster, adorning the frontside of the vase. It is unmarked, and unsigned by the artist as far as we can tell. It probably dates to the typical standard glaze period from the late 1800s into 1910. It is a solid pot, with a nice heft to it, feels like McCoy, or Brush, but we cannot be certain. This very handsome vase is in excellent condition, with restoration to a simple tight line at the rim, which extended about 1.5" along a mold seam. There are some factory clay tags on the body of the vase, as can be seen in the photos. If you collect early standard glazes by J.W. McCoy, or Brush, this large vessel will fit right in. You will be thrilled to add this richly glazed beauty to your collection!
