This impressive Jemerick Pottery vase by Cherie Jemsek and Steve Frederick stands 8.75" high by 5" in diameter, by 3.5" at the rim. It has a full-bodied bulb-form vase cloaked in leaves from tip to toe. Best of all, it is glazed in a signature matte green speckled glaze developed at Jemerick, in a wonderful Arts and Crafts presentation. This vessel is glazed in earthtone green glazes, and finished to a smooth satin mat. This vessel is marked on the base, but hard to read. We guarantee it to be vintage Jemerick Pottery from the early 2000s. This vase is in original condition, with the usual glaze nuances of studio pots, but no apologies. Jemerick Pottery
Jemerick Pottery is an Arts and Crafts inspired collaboration of Cherie Jemsek and Steve Frederick of New York State. They have been studio potters since 1973 and started working in the Arts and Crafts Style in 1997 (Retired in 2014). Inspired by the original Arts and Crafts Movement 1890-1910, they make both Classic Arts and Crafts pottery and a wide variety of their own designs, each one-of-a-kind. Each pot is thrown on the potter's wheel by Steve out of stoneware clay and then sculpted individually by either Steve or Cherie. After drying, they are fired to a bisque temperature before glazing and then fired to over 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. All vases are water tight and can be used for fresh flowers.
From their blog:
"The chief source of art is man's pleasure in his daily work, which expresses itself and is embodied in that art itself."
William Morris (1834-1896)
