This Rookwood Decorated Mat vase 6.25" high by 4" in diameter, and 4.25" at the base. It has a pleasing bulb-like form, with a rolled collar. This vessel is decorated with a garland of blossoms and/or leaves framing the hip. It was hand painted by one of Rookwood's female artists, Miss Vera Tischler, whose tenure at Rookwood Pottery was from 1920 to 1926. She chose a yellow ground and a variety of colors in the decoration, which is blurred out. This vase is well marked with the Rookwood logo, and dated 1925 in Roman Numerals, and it is initialed by Vera Tischler on the base, along with its shape number 2719. It is x'd, likely because of the blur in the decoration around the hip. This vase is in original factory condition.
