This handsome Rookwood Decorated Mat/Double Vellum vase stands 6.5" high by 2.5" in diameter, and 1.5" at the rim. It has a simple, slender bud vase form, with a flared rim.This vessel is decorated with a beautiful garland of red blossoms and leaves trailing over the body of the vase. It was hand painted by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Katherine Jones, whose tenure at Rookwood Pottery was from 1924 to 1931. She chose a beautiful palette of colors, in a lush yellow ground, with beautifully complementary colors in the decoration. This vase is well marked with the Rookwood logo, and dated 1925 in Roman Numerals, and it is initialed by Katherine Jones on the base, along with its shape number 357F.
