This handsome Rookwood Decorated Mat/Double Vellum vase stands a respectable 9" high by 5" in diameter. It has a pleasing full-bodied form, with a rolled rim. This pot is decorated with a beautiful garland of star blossoms and leaves covering the mid-section of the vessel. It was hand painted by Rookwood artist Charles Klinger, whose tenure at Rookwood Pottery is noted to be 1925, with some sketchy initials back in 1916, that appear quuite similar. This vase is dated 1925. He chose a beautiful palette of colors, in a lush turquoise ground, with beautifully complementary colors in the decoration. This vase is well marked with the Rookwood logo, and dated 1925 in Roman Numerals, and it is initialed by Charles Klinger on the base, along with its shape number 926G. This large pot is in original condition, no apologies. If you like Klinger's art, this Decorated Mat/Vellum is a very handsome example of Rookwood Pottery.
