This Rookwood Decorated Mat vase stands 6.25" high by 4.5" in diameter, tapering to 3.25" at the rim opening. It has a shapely, pleasing form. Best of all, this beauty is decorated by one of Rookwood's prized female artists, Miss Elizabeth Lincoln, whose tenure at the Rookwood Pottery was from 1892-1931, essentially her career. She chose a rich palette of colors in a deep shaded pink to yellow ground, with lovely red blossoms and deep green leaves. This vessel is an absolute stunner. This vase is well marked, dated 1927 in Roman Numerals, shape 915E, and initialed by Elizabeth Lincoln on the base 'L.N.L.'. It still bears its Cincinnati Art Galleries paper label with the number 282. It is in factory original condition, with an 'X' noted on the underside, which relates to a tiny, teensy factory glaze pop to the side of the vase, which we show in the photos. It really does not detract from its presentation, this is a beautiful vase.
