This Roseville original lamp base stands 8" high by 6.5" in diameter, 1.5" in diameter at the rim opening. This unusual lamp base is like many of Roseville's 1930s lamp bases, whose designs are unlike any of Roseville's vase lines, which sort of call attention to themselves as if to say'Look at me!'. This base has a very nice form, akin to a vase form from the Imperial II Line, vase shape 473-7.5 (however, it is not from the Imperial II line). It is adorned with what I see as leaves or flames rising from the base up the sides. The glaze colors are awesome over a textured black/brown ground glaze, covered in a rainbow of autumn colors over the flames or leaves that are in relief. This original lamp base is marked with the letter/number code 'F39', along with a stray '3' in a blue/black grease pencil notation on the base, and guaranteed to be vintage Roseville, circa 1930s. It is in near original condition, with a simple small chip/nick on the top rim, which is well shown in the photos. This original Roseville lamp base makes a great stand-alone presentation, sure to start a conversation. While it is not a 'trial' or 'experimental', it's a pretty cool pot!
